Which route could fit?

Panama has several residency categories. These are starting points for a discussion, not an eligibility assessment or a promise that every route is offered by The Bitcoin Way.

What is a Plan B residency?

It is a second-country residency option: permission to reside under that country’s immigration rules. It is different from a short tourist stay. The exact rights and conditions depend on the permit granted.

Do I have to move straight away?

A future option may be possible without an immediate full-time move. That does not mean there are no visits or maintenance requirements. Ask for the complete schedule, including application trips, renewals and any return visits. The Bitcoin Way’s Friendly Nations terms specify these obligations.

Review the residency service terms.

Can my family apply with me?

Ask whether your proposed category allows dependants, which family members may qualify and what extra financial evidence and documents are required. Request an assessment of every family member rather than assuming everyone qualifies.

What documents should I prepare?

The checklist depends on your route and circumstances. Request a current, written document checklist for your application. Ask which documents need authentication, translation or an apostille, and how recently they must have been issued.

How long will it take, and what will it cost?

Request a current, written assessment and itemised quote for your circumstances. Ask about professional and government fees, any investment requirement, travel, translations, renewals and costs for dependants. Review the provider’s non-refundable payment terms before paying. No approval or completion date is guaranteed here.

Read the provider’s fees and conditions.

Does this change my Australian tax position?

A foreign residency permit does not automatically make you a non-resident for Australian tax purposes. Australian tax residency is a separate, facts-based assessment. Get advice from a qualified Australian tax professional before changing your arrangements.

Panama’s tax authority describes income tax by reference to activities carried out in Panama. Do not assume that remote work, overseas payments or Bitcoin gains are automatically tax-free. Ask a qualified adviser how both countries’ rules apply to you.

Is residency the same as citizenship or a second passport?

No. Treat residency, citizenship and a passport as separate questions. If citizenship is a long-term goal, ask a qualified lawyer about the applicable residence, nationality and naturalisation requirements. Do not assume a residency approval guarantees a future passport or dual citizenship.

Will I automatically have the right to work or open a bank account?

Ask the lawyer to confirm work permissions for your exact category, and ask the relevant bank about its own checks. Do not make employment or banking plans on the assumption that a residency card settles every requirement.

How private is the process?

Ask what information immigration authorities and professionals will need, who will handle it and how it will be protected. Review the provider’s privacy and confidentiality terms, including its call-recording policy. Residency planning is a documented legal process, not an anonymous arrangement.

Review data handling and recording terms.

Does a Plan B guarantee I can travel whenever I want?

Do not treat it as a guarantee against future travel restrictions, changes in law or decisions by authorities. Ask how the proposed status works in practice and what limitations still apply. Plan B approval itself is not guaranteed by The Bitcoin Way.

Read the provider’s no-guarantees terms.
